Launch of the Road to COP17 initiative

We held the launch event for the Road to COP17 Initiative, which is a year-long series of activities to boost national awareness and capacity about global biodiversity agenda ahead of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), to be held in Yerevan on 19–30 October 2026.

Organized by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, the AUA Acopian Center for the Environment and Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Initiative will include capacity-building workshops, an international conference, e-learning modules, etc. In my talk, I presented the Initiative and planned activities and events. The launch event also featured discussions on the Convention on Biological Diversity and Armenia’s 2026–2030 National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP). The event attracted strong interest from a wide range of stakeholders.
