"Fungal Conservation in Europe: Evidence to Action" conference
Today, the “Fungal Conservation in Europe: Evidence to Action” conference has started in Uppsala, Sweden. The first day focused largely on policy aspects of fungal conservation, with a key issue being the historical lack of recognition of the fungal kingdom. However, in recent years, fungi have increasingly been incorporated into policy frameworks. Key presentations included those by Greg Mueller and Catia Canteiro, who introduced a Global Fungal Conservation Strategy, which is planned to be presented at CBD COP17 in Yerevan. From my side, I contributed with a poster focusing on the assessment and inclusion of lichens in the Red Data Book of Armenia.
